Confrontation against Olympique Lyonnais

On Tuesday, February 19, Barça will take on the lawn of the Stade des Lumières, the new home (2016) of Olympique Lyonnais. So far, all the confrontations between “Blaugranes” and “Lionesses” on the field of this team had been played in Gerland, a legendary stadium opened in 1920. The game of duels is very favorable to Barça: four wins and two draws, with sixteen goals in favor and seven against. From this handful of goals, one of Messi's remains in memory in the last confrontation: he controls his chest stuck in the band, avoids three rivals with a colossal slalom and makes a wall with Eto'o that allows him to save one fourth opponent and kick accurately. And from here, in the quarterfinals of an edition that would end up living a final apotheosis in Rome, in May 2009.
This day 19 will be, for the moment, the last game played by Barça in French lands, the country that saw the club's first international trip. Next first of May will be 115 years old. On that occasion, the trip was settled with a victory in Toulouse 3-2.
