To mark the presentation of three new female Board members, the project led by Víctor Font has organised Sí al futur: Les dones al Bará (Yes to the Future: Women in Barça), a roundtable devoted to analysis of why women are so poorly represented in senior roles in sport, along with the part they play at all levels.
In view of the public health restrictions, anyone who wants will be able to attend the event remotely, via Youtube or Zoom.
The event will have the following participants: Carlota Pi, founder and President of green energy start-up Holaluz; Joana Barbany, Director-General for the Digital Society within the Catalan Government’s Ministry of Digital Policy and Public Administration, and Sí al futur Board member; Carles Combarros, former General Manager of Centre d’Alt Rendiment (CAR) – a high-performance sports training facility located just north of Barcelona, in Sant Cugat del Vallès – and member of the Sport Committee of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce; and Carlota Planas, football agent and founder of UNIK Sports Management. In addition, Amaia Gorostiza, President of SD Eibar and the only female president of a top-division football club in Spain, and Natalia Arroyo, Real Sociedad Women coach, will be speaking remotely. The audience will include Maria Antonia Milà, historical President of the Sant Boi de Llobregat FC Barcelona Supporters’ Club, who will also be taking part. The journalist Gemma Soler will moderate the roundtable.
The first part of the event will consist of a roundtable and will start at 7:30 p.m. During the second part, Víctor Font will present the three new Sí al futur Board members and outline the project’s action plans for normalising the role of women in Barça.
