Víctor Font has already presented Antoni Bassas, Ramon Cugat and Toni Nadal as new members of Sí al futur

Antoni Bassas, Ramon Cugat and Toni Nadal are already part of the Sí al futur ['Yes to the future' in Catalan] team, the project led by Víctor Font. The first to be presented was Toni Nadal, on November 6, a week later, Antoni Bassas and, finally, Ramon Cugat, who was presented on November 23.

Toni Nadal (Manacor, Majorca, 1961), with Barça membership number 63964, will be part of Sí al futur's candidacy for the next elections to the presidency of FC Barcelona.

Toni Nadal, who will join the sports area of the project led by Víctor Font, is the uncle and former coach of Spanish tennis player Rafa Nadal and brother of Barça retired football player Miquel Àngel Nadal.

An expert in managing adversity, values and self-improvement, he has been awarded the bronze medal of the Spanish Royal Order of Sports Merit 2007 and the Jaume II Award for his task as coach, educator, trainer and inspirer of Rafa Nadal's successes.

Antoni Bassas (Barcelona, 1961), FC Barcelona member number 71,311, was presented as number 2 of Sí al futur. Bassas, as senior executive of the Club, will be linked to the Office of the President and will also participate in the management areas involving Institutional RelationsCommunication and the Foundation, announced Víctor Font today.

Antoni Bassas’ career is closely linked to Barça, both personally and professionally. He holds a degree in Information Sciences and has worked in the team broadcasting Barça matches on Ràdio Barcelona and Catalunya Ràdio during 14 seasons (1981-1995). He is the author of the book A un pam de la glòria (Within an Inch of the Glory) and was the presenter of the Barça Centenary TV program “Aquest any, Cent!” on TV3 Catalan channel.

He is a co-founder of the Catalan language newspaper “Ara”. From 1995 to 2008 he hosted the radio program “El matí de Catalunya Ràdio” and was the TV3 correspondent in the United States from 2009 to 2013. Among others accolades, he has been awarded the National Journalism Award, the National Communication Award, two Ondas, Òmnium Award, Best Sports Journalist Award (Gala Mundo Deportivo 1999) Josep Pla Narrative Award, Protagonistas Award and Blaugrana Optimism Award (Penyes Barcelonès).

Born in the village of L’Aldea, Catalonia, in 1950 and an FC Barcelona member (number 18905), Ramon Cugat will form part of the Board of Directors and will contribute to any strategic decisions that it makes on medical matters, and to the new psychology and performance area. If Víctor Font is elected President of FC Barcelona, Ramon Cugat will also act as an advisor on any sporting and institutional issues on which he can bring his experience to bear.

A world-renowned expert, Dr Cugat specialises in trauma and orthopaedics. He is considered an authority in the field of sports medicine, and is a staff doctor in the Catalan Footballers’ Mutual Society (MFC) and in the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). He has operated on thousands of footballers playing at every level. One of the most recent players he has performed surgery on was the Barça player Ansu Fati, on Monday 9 November. He has also treated Club legends, such as Pep Guardiola, Xavi Hernández, Carles Puyol, Andrés Iniesta, Samuel Eto'o and Cesc Fábregas.

Ramon Cugat was a pioneer of arthroscopic operations in Spain, and was a member of the team of orthopaedic surgeons at the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992.
