More than 500 Barça supporters have already taken part in online meetings of Sí al futur and Víctor Font

More than 500 Barça supporters have already taken part in the telematic meetings of Sí al futur [‘Yes to the Future’ in Catalan], the project led by Víctor Font, an initiative which aims to offer a new proposal to FC Barcelona members for the next elections for the Club’s presidency. After the great response of the first online meeting, which had taken place on May 8, with the presence of more than 200 supporters, and the second one, on May 22, with a further 150, last night 150 Barcelona supporters more took part in this new presentation.

At the beginning, Víctor Font outlined the main points of the project in a conversation with journalist Antoni Bassas, who guided and moderated the event. Afterwards, for almost an hour all attendees were able to ask about different aspects of the sports, economic or social project put forward by Sí al futur, as well as about the current sports situation, presided over by the imminent return of the competition.

Thus, for example, most of those attending the session focused on the policy of no refunding of the unused part of the season tickets due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Víctor Font suggested that the Board of Directors had had little flexibility, understanding and transparency in the management of the issue. Javier Polo and Marc Sabaté were interested in the proposal of Sí al futur to address the waiting list of members with no season ticket at Camp Nou. Font explained the project that aims to encourage the attendance of members instead of promoting the freeing of seats. Àngels Oró wanted to know if Víctor Font was in favour of having a Board with a gender-parity of its members. "Absolutely yes, despite the difficulties posed by the statutory limitations, specifically as regards financial guarantees and seniority."

After the great response, Sí al futur is ready for a new online meeting with Víctor Font. It will be entirely in Spanish, responding to the numerous requests from Barcelona supporters who express themselves in this language. It will be held next Friday, June 12, at 7 pm, also via Zoom, and will be conducted by Antoni Bassas. Reservations open at 12 noon on Saturday, June 6, on the website www.sialfutur.cat.
